Hot Tub

In the garden of the house there is a wood burning hot tub (badtunna) available for the use by our guests.

This is great fun all year round, particularly if combined with a barbecue on the fireplace next to it. It's a perfect way to relax and unwind and take in the nature around you. It's perfect even in the Winter, when it is chilly outside.

It needs to be treated with care and respect at all times and you will need to use it at your own responsibility. Be sensible when you use it, keep an eye on children and be sure never to touch the stove.

How to Use the Hot Tub:

It takes some time to prepare and heat the bath (but that is part of the fun):

- Empty the bath (it will have old water in it when you first use it) and clean it out

- Refill bath halfway with water

- Light stove by building a fire in the stove (it has a knack to it), and ensuring smoke goes up the chimney

- Fill with water up to around 30cm from the top

- Keep an eye on the fire and load up with more wood to warm the water (this will take 3-4 hours in total, so plan well in advance). Keep the lid on to keep the heat in and it will heat up more quickly. You will need to provide your own wood (available from shops such as Coop Bygg or petrol stations)

- Enjoy bath!

- After bathing put the lid on to retain heat and keep it clean.

- DO NOT EMPTY THE WATER OUT ON LEAVING LYCKEBO.

Tips and Advice:

Ensure the temperature does not too hot, the optimum temperature is between 36-39 degrees (over 40 degrees can be dangerous).

Consult doctor before use if pregnant or you have a history of heart conditions.

Think about hygiene, bacteria thrives in warm water. We would advise showering before use (we have an outdoor shower too). It is recommended that you change the water every 2-3 baths but please limit to one filling of the bath per week (so our water does not run out). We have mild cleaning tablets provided to help keep it clean (use one per week for continuous cleaning).

Never touch the stove or chimney

Never heat the chimney without water in the tub
