The Wood Cabin:

Lyckebo is a cosy wood cabin situated in an opening in the forest overlooking a huge private garden and a lake in the distance.

It has 2 bedrooms:

1 Master bedroom with a double bed, wardrobe

1 Second bedroom with  1 X cot, 1 X bunkbed (for either kids or adults) and toys, wardrobe

A fully equipped kitchen with oven and hob, fridge freezer, microwave, full cutlery  and crockery set, pots and pans. The Kitchen has a breakfast table that seats 4 with views over the garden and lake.

A Living area with panoramic views from floor to ceiling windows. Sofas and armchairs, books, stereo (with facility to play your iPod and CD's), games and information about the area. Living room also has a daybed that could sleep an extra person (a put me up can also be made available on request).

Bathroom with shower and WC.

Veranda with tables and chairs for 4 - heated and sheltered for when the chill sets in.

The Garden:

The rocky but well maintained garden has array of plants, shrubs, herbs, lawn and medow. You can find berries (wild strawberries, blueberries, gooseberries, black and red currants) rhubarb and chanterelle mushrooms

There are several sets of Garden furniture, a swing, hammock, barbecue, paddling pool, games etc. There are also 2 bikes that you can use (but they are old, you can hire proper mountain bikes in Ulricehamn)

The Location:

Lyckebo is in a private setting in the forest, with lots of walking opportunities or just lazy days in the garden. We have one or two neighbours but they keep themselves to themselves. You pass a farm and a few other holiday homes on your way there from the main road - but that's about 3 or 4 houses in 3 km - so if you are looking to get away, this really is the place.

Lake Bredsjon is a short walk away and has a nice, private beach for swimming in peace. Bredsjon together with several other fishing lakes close by are regarded as the best  in the area - full of pike, perch & eel etc. (Fishing permits 100 SEK/ £7 pounds for a year's fishing ). A boat is available for hire for around 100 SEK per day.

Also close to Ulrichamns Ski centre  - the only one of its kind in southern sweden. Its really a hill not a mountain but apparently the Danes love it- their biggest 'mountain' is 150m (!).

The area also has lots of cross country skiing tracks, cycling paths, farms where you can do riding tours, canoe hire and a golf course.

Respecting the Environment:

As much as possible we want our presence at Lyckebo to have as little impact as possible on the environment.

The water is sourced from our own well, and all food waste is composted. In line with Swedish Regulations as much as possible should be recycled at various places - either at any supermarket for cans, bottles etc (ICA in Ulricehamn) or at the waste disposal site outside Ulricehamn.
